Successful representation of A-Selver AS
We successfully represented AS A-Selver, a leading Estonian food retailer, in court in the dispute of cancellation of the contract for cleaning services, where a claim for compensation 7.5 MEEK was submitted against out client and in which the court recognised the right to terminate the contract if the other party surprisingly threatens to refuse to perform its obligations in a well-established manner (case no. 2-04-1129).
Successful mediation in a competition dispute over the price of gas
We represented and conciliated the Estonian Property Owners Association, an interest group uniting Estonian consumers, in the dispute with the gas monopoly AS Eesti Gaas (Estonian Gas Ltd) over the price approval by the Competition Authority which ended with a trilateral amicable settlement that took account of the interests of all parties.
Successful representation of leading daily newspapers in the Supreme Court
Our advocates were successful in representing Estonian listed media group Ekspress Grupp publications Eesti Päevaleht and SL Õhtuleht in the Supreme Court, in connection with the precedent case on permissibility of consumer raffles under the Lotteries Act – cases no. 3-1-1-7-06 and 3-1-1-8-06.

Our litigation team was successful in representing the Court of Honour of the Estonian Bar Association before a Supreme Court in connection with a disciplinary procedure on professional ethics issues– case no. 3-3-1-37-05
Successful representation in the Supreme Court over calculation of state fees
We successfully represented our client in a landmark case (3-2-1-37-07) where the Supreme Court affirmed that the state fee payable for making an entry to the land register for an owner of an registered immovable must be calculated on the basis of the sales price of the registered immovable exclusive of value added tax. As a result of the dispute the client was refunded the state fee in the amount of approx. 178 000 EEK, initially paid on the basis of an unfounded request by the Land Registry Department.
Assistance in connection with the ICSID Arbitration
Our advocates assisted a Washington law firm Covington Burling in connection with the claim of US and Dutch foreign investors in AS Eesti Raudtee (Estonian Railways) in their claim against the Republic of Estonia, before the Intenational Center for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID) Arbitration Court in Washington D.C., for the breach of the international investment protection treaties (claim of damages approx 5,1 billion EEK)
Successful representation of an Estonian investment company in Supreme Court
Our litigation team represented a leading Estonian private equity house AS NG Investeeringud before the Supreme Court, in connection with a precedent creating decision on deduction of VAT, where the Supreme Court amended it previous interpretation of the law – case no. 3-3-1-74-04.
