June saw the launch of our annual practise placement programme for outstanding law students, which is designed to provide young legal scholars with the opportunity to implement their freshly acquired legal knowledge in resolving the practical everyday legal issues and to get a feel for the day-to-day work of commercial lawyers.


This year, two young lawyers from the Faculty of Law of the University of Tartu – Mirko Kikkamägi and Kärt Pormeister – were given the opportunity to participate in the programme. Over the period of four weeks each of them was mentored by our partner Villu Otsmann.

According to Villu Otsmann, cooperation with students creates a foundation for even greater future trust in attorneys and other lawyers engaged in the legal system. It also enables law to play a more efficient role in society. This year’s trainees are different in being young law students who see opportunities and joy in life and who find that they are primarily committed to the profession of an attorney.
