Fields of practise
Partner Taivo Ruus co-ordinates the Public Law practise of the firm. His main fields of activity include advising clients in public procurement, environmental, planning and building law, PPP projects and representing clients in civil and administrative court proceedings.

Professional experience
During his studies in the Faculty of Law of the University of Tartu Taivo joined the Olevimäe Law Firm in 1997 as a lawyer. In 2002 he founded his own law firm that was named Law Firm Ruus, Koch & Vabamets in 2006.

Through 2004-2005 Taivo undertook public service in the Office of the Legal Advisor of the Tallinn City Government.

Education
Taivo attended at the Estonian Academy of Music through 1988-1995. From 1995 to 1999 Taivo studied in the Faculty of Law of the University of Tartu.

Languages
Taivo is fluent in Estonian and English and also able to communicate with clients in Russian, Finnish and German.

Social activities and hobbies
Taivo is an alumnus of the Rotalia Fraternity and a member of the Board of the Rotalia Fund Foundation that is engaged in supporting education.

Taivo plays folk music with his friends in the band of the Rotalia Fraternity Rota Bene, practices karate and long-distance running.
